Hey there, it’s nice to meet you! Since you made it this far, you might be wondering: “Ultra-strong tights? How has no one done this before?!“. Well, we did it. Our founder, Katherine Homuth, had the wild idea of taking some of the strongest fibers in the world (typically used in climbing equipment) and using them to create equally durable tights. It turns out that it worked better than she ever imagined, and Sheertex was born. We started shipping products 18 months ago out of a 2,000 square foot garage. Today, we’ve been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions, have a team that’s over 170 strong, and are operating out of Canada’s largest hosiery factory. Every year, over 2 billion pairs of pantyhose end up in landfills after only 1-2 wears. With Sheertex™ Knit Technology, we’re on a mission to change that. Say goodbye to disposable, and hello to tights that actually last.
Sustainable has never looked so good. Our Second Chances collection features basics and accessories made from upcycled knit from our production process, because every piece of material deserves a second chance at life. The collection features lightweight non-medical masks and ridiculously comfy underwear cut from scrap fabric; scrunchies and headbands made from pantyhose legs, and more products to come as we develop further creative, comfortable ways to reduce waste.
